English: Academic Reading & Writing

This 2-part course is designed specifically for high school teens aged 13-17. The main focus is to help students in secondary 2, 3, 4, and 5 to prepare for and pass provincial English exit and entry exams at the secondary and collegial levels.

Priority registration: for students who have attended classes during the previous session.

General registration: for new students.

New students are required to take our level placement test, without exception. Students who are enrolled in Language Camp sessions and want to register for the Fall session (September), are required to take our level placement test before registering.

Academic Reading & Writing (9 to 12 years)

Academic Reading and Writing is a 12-week course which teaches the students the basics of reading and writing: sentence structure, paragraph writing, punctuation, reading for meaning, etc.

Dates 2020:

  • January 11 to March 28 (5% discount if you register and pay before December 14, 2019.)
  • April 4 to June 20 (5% discount if you register and pay before March 14, 2020.)
  • September 12 to December 5(5% discount if you register and pay before August 22, 2020.)

(Statutory holidays: no classes on October 10 and 11, 2020.)

Days: Sunday
Hours: 9am to 12:15pm
Duration: 12-week Session
Number of Hours: 3.15 hours/week in class (39 heures)
Requirements: For students enrolled in secondary 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Aged between 13 and 17 years old.
And have successfully completed the Advanced 1 level at the YMCA or be evaluated at the Advanced 2 level*.
