TOXICO Project

TOXICO Project

The Toxico project is a program that aims to proactively deal with psychoactive substance addiction in 12 to 17-year-olds in the school setting. Through prevention and intervention strategies, the youth worker equips youth with tools and information and supports them through their experiences with substance use, thus reducing its negative impacts.

Present on a daily basis, the youth worker interacts with teens in informal settings and builds lasting relationships based on trust. They are mandated with leading prevention workshops for all students in the school, in addition to supporting youth who want to change their consumption habits or who were referred to the program through a school protocol.

Currently, the program is offered at schools in the Lester B. Pearson School Board, the Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys, and the Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l’Île.
