Level 1
At this level, you acquire the basic grammar and vocabulary needed to converse in Italian. Our communication-based courses immediately plunge you into real-life situations: greetings, asking for information, expressing likes and preferences. In Level 1, you study regular and irregular verbs in the present indicative. You also learn vocabulary on the following themes: the weather, family, food and travel. By the end of this course, you are able to tell time and routine activities.

Listening and reading strongly encouraged.

After reviewing the material in Level 1, we dive deeper into the language. Theoretical concepts introduced in Level 1 become more concrete through more complex and realistic simulation exercises.

In Level 2, you study the past perfect and learn to talk about past events (your last vacation, for example). You conquer imperatives, and asking for and giving directions. You learn contractions of prepositions. In addition, you can identify yourself, situate yourself in space and describe activities in the present.

Listening and reading skills improve.
