Beginner 1
|
|
In this level we help you build vocabulary about the family, occupations, colours, days,
months, numbers, telling time, and some everyday activities. We look at the simple present
and present continuous tenses. You learn to ask yes/no questions and information questions,
and you practice dialogues. By the end of the course, you will also begin to understand parts
of conversations that you hear.

Beginner 2
|
|
In this level, you learn about the simple present and present continuous tenses as well as
Simple Past and Future tenses and you build on your vocabulary for indoor and outdoor
activities. You will start to speak about activities and events in the past, present, and
future. You will learn to ask yes/no questions and information questions in these tenses.
Practice will be in the form of guided dialogues as well as free conversations.

Intermediate 1
|
|
In this level, you work on mastering the four basic verb tenses, simple present, present
continuous, simple past, future, compared to the previous levels where you were introduced to
them. You will begin to tell stories about situations that you experienced in the past and
about your plans. You will continue to practice question word order for yes/no questions and
information questions. Classroom conversations will be less controlled and you will begin to
give your opinion on different topics.

Intermediate 2A
|
|
At the beginning of this level the student uses the Simple Past, and Future fairly regularly and correctly. When pressed to answer “I” to the question “How long have you lived/worked/been here?” for example, they will answer in the present or the past. They may still have trouble using simple present or present continuous. Fluency might be quite good but vocabulary may be only fair. |

| Intermediate 2B |
| At the beginning of this level the student uses the Simple Past, Simple Present, and Future quite well. Having done work on the present perfect, they are able to answer questions with “how long…?” with the verbs live, work, be, and have. Their level of vocabulary and their fluency has improved, as compared to 2A. |

Intermediate 3
|
|
You enter this level using the basic tenses correctly most of the time and have sufficient
vocabulary to describe events, tell stories, and give opinions. In this level you will learn
about verbs and expressions with gerunds, the passive voice, the past continuous as compared
to the simple past, and the unreal conditional.

|
Advanced 1
|
|
You enter this level quite fluent, correctly using the above-mentioned verb tenses and
structures most of the time, and having a good range of vocabulary. You do not rely on your
first language so much to speak English. You speak more spontaneously, but still hesitate when
asked questions with more complex verb structures like the present perfect continuous. You
have studied the conditionals, but you may still not be sure of the difference between the
real and unreal conditionals and therefore make mistakes when using them. In this level you
will look at present perfect continuous on its own and as compared to the present perfect,
the conditionals, embedded questions as compared to regular question formation, and reported
speech.

Advanced 2
|
|
You enter this level with a good command of most above-mentioned structures, verb tenses, and
vocabulary. You may still be confused about the uses of the present continuous or the
conditionals and your reported speech and embedded questions may need more practice.
You are comfortable expressing opinions, describing people, things and events, and making
comparisons. In this level you will learn and practice the past perfect and past perfect
continuous tenses, past and present conditionals,
hope
as compared to wish,
the future continuous tense, verbs and expressions with gerunds,
used to
as compared to would,
reported speech, and the passive voice in the past and with modals.
